INTEL PENTIUM 20TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION PROCESSOR TO HIT THE MARKET IN MID-2014 Not enough with Devil’s Canyon and the 8-core, 16-thread Intel Haswell-E Core i7 Extreme Edition processor, Intel has also announced yet another new product at the on-going Game Developers Conference in San Francisco. The company didn’t specify whether it will be a series of processor or just one single processor but we do know that it belongs to the Pentium family. Furthermore, it is not just your typical low-end Pentium processor. Coming to the market in mid 2014, this particular Pentium processor is called the Intel Pentium Anniversary Edition – to mark the 20th anniversary of the iconic processor series. The Intel Pentium Anniversary Edition processor apparently will come with unlocked multiplier which will allow overclocking and will also feature Intel Quick Sync Video capability which is usually reserved for the higher-end Intel Core series. Interestingly, the Intel Pentium Anniversary Edition will be supported by the existing Intel 8 Series chipset as well as the upcoming Intel 9 Series chipset. The processor will be marked with the anniversary ribbon logo as shown above so that users are able to identify it easily. Just like the other two GDC announcements from Intel, the information regarding Intel Pentium Anniversary Edition processor is still scarce at the moment. We’ll keep you updated once Intel shares more information with us.
